The longer story…

Micah Rosenstein (b. 2001) is an American composer, arranger, music educator, and graphic designer. His works explore advanced applications of composition, advocate for the solidarity of music, and challenge norms. A positive social force, non-profit organizations and public institutions alike appraise Micah's ability in bringing accessible music theory training outside the classroom and into his surrounding community.

He has won multiple awards for his craft, and presented curated research as a first-generation undergraduate student at Texas Society for Music 2023 Annual Conference (Kingsville, TX) and Music Theory Pedagogy Into Practice 2022 Conference (East Lansing, MI) on methods of public music theory practices and innovative teaching "outside-the-classroom". Micah Rosenstein's diverse scope for music composition and education partnered with UTSA Music Public Outreach program On-Corps as a beginning band mentor of low brass and music arranger for their ensembles, providing retired veterans in the Greater San Antonio area free instrument training and ensemble opportunities devoid of previous musical experience.

Micah Rosenstein is a participating member of the Texas Music Teachers Association and Austin District Music Teachers Association. In keeping with this passion for community-involvement through pedagogy, Micah Rosenstein has gained valuable field-experience working as a music theory teaching assistant and lead graphic designer at The University of Texas at San Antonio School of Music during his second-to-last and final year studying as an undergraduate, to which he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music-Composition and a minor in Business Administration (2023). Micah Rosenstein now seeks to further the applications of his craft through commissions and collaborative work, and plans to pursue his career-path further through Master’s studies at The University of Texas at Austin.
